The Best of Engagement + Anniversary Sessions in 2017
Ohhhhh COUPLES. LOVEBIRDS. LOVE STORIES. HOW I LOVE THEM ALL.
Let's talk about these awesome couples for real though.. How do I get so lucky!? Truly, I have no idea! 2017 was full of some of the sweetest love stories I have ever heard, some of the most fun engagement and anniversary sessions I've ever shot, and enough laughing with joyful souls to make my cheeks hurt!!
Ya know what's crazy?? This first set of photos below? Allllllll of them in the first set are couples who already got married this year! It's always a mixed bag on if engagement sessions for couples occur in the same year as their wedding - I don't mind either way, I love it all! The only part that makes me sad is looking over these photos and knowing their wedding day has already come and gone!
Ultimately, engagement sessions are one of my favorite things to shoot - that time is soooo fantastic! It's beneficial for building a good relationship with my couples, but it's also just always SUCH a fun few hours together!
Anniversary sessions are the same description for me, while we might not be building a relationship that will be essential as we move forward into a wedding day....it's STILL a time together of getting to know one another! Sometimes I know these couples who come to me for anniversary sessions, and sometimes I don't, and the truth is, I love both scenarios because as cliche as it sounds, I freakin' love LOVE.
And ya know what else... these sessions?? It's all.about.them! All! All about them! What makes them who they are as a couple, what makes them laugh, what makes them feel special - these are just a few of the things I'm after when it comes to documenting a couple's engagement or anniversary session! Showcasing their love and their love story in images they'll have forever - I mean, really, does it get better than that!?
I could talk about this forever and a day, but how about instead, I just show you! Because seriously, 2017 was full of so much great love!
McKenzie and Nick were married in September at Faulkner's Ranch, and it rained cats and dogs, people!

This next beautiful couple reached out this year for anniversary photos, and guess what, I didn't know them at all until the day we met for their session! And guess what else, it was amazing! What better way to celebrate the milestones of your love story and marriage than getting cuddly, romantic, authentic photos taken together! Katie and Scott were so great to work with and I loved getting to know them!
Sweet Jessica and Kevin were married back in March of this year, which feels so far back! These two tied the knot over at Shoal Creek Golf Club, see their day here!

Sweet Amber and Matt!! We had so much fun at Liberty Memorial for their engagement session, and then their wedding day was sooo beautiful! See their big day here! :)
Oh Jessica and Rachel.......here's a couple who, on their wedding day, I cried like a baby! These two share something so incredibly special, and that day was simply an emotional one!! Their nuptials happened over at Thompson Barn, see it here!
Goodness I'm so nostalgic, but Rachel and Jake!!!! R+J!! Spending time with these two was the absolute best! Their wedding day was all over the place as far as locations go, but it was magical!! See it here!
AAHHH!! Jordan and Justin! These two actually JUST tied the knot in December - see it here! And I might have gone a little overboard on choosing faves from their engagement session....but when you combine the most gorgeous wooded areas, a huge lake, and a CANOE, I mean, I can't be held responsible for my decisions, people!!
Chelsea and JR did both their engagement session and their laid-back wedding at English Landing Park!
I still croak a little when I see Lorraine and Travis in that FIELD OF PURPLE WILDFLOWERS. This engagement session got me right in my feels my friends, riiiight in there. So did their July wedding!!
Ohhh Courtney and Austin!!! I'm basically still hung up in my own mind over their wedding day....revisit that magical day here, because trust me, it was magic! Love these two!

The only thing I'm bummed about from Hayley and JJ's November wedding.....is that doggy Hank didn't make a reappearance! These guys are great!
Nowwwwwwww!! Now we're getting into some engagement sessions from 2017 that are couples I have yet to shoot their weddings!!! ASK ME HOW EXCITED I AM!!!!! All of these couples have amazing and beautiful love stories, and I'm already pumped out of my mind for their upcoming weddings!!

Kat and Robert did a combination shoot.....yes, engagement photos as seen below...but guess what!? Kat is also pregnant! We did some strategic posing and such to give them a variety of both engagement photos, and celebration photos!! See their full shoot here!
