Overland Park, Kansas - Catholic Wedding | Lori & Rick

Lori and Rick's wedding day had finally arrived - June 27th, 2015. The day was a gorgeous gift of perfect blue skies and mild temperatures. While Rick hung out with his guys, his son, and Lori's son - the girls all helped Lori dress in her wedding gown.
Their ceremony was held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Overland Park, Kansas. Lori's son, Nicholas - provided the arm Lori held as she walked down the aisle to Rick. They made sure to give roses to both of their mother's - as well as Mother Mary herself, which was simply moving to witness. Their family and friends watched on as Lori and Rick said their eternal vows to one another - sealed with a kiss.
Lori & Rick - Thank you guys again - for everything. There is no doubt, two people as loving as you are will have a long and wonderful life together!

Deer Creek Wedding | Stephanie & Danny
With gorgeous sunflowers and a bright blue sky - these two said their vows to one another.
It was college that brought these two together, The University of Missouri - or as most around here call it, Mizzou. Stephanie's sorority and Danny's fraternity houses were right next door to one another, so their paths crossed often. Fate always has her hand in the way things pan out, and ultimately, these two ended up together.
When the time came for that next step, Danny and Stephanie were living together in an apartment. Danny's bright idea for proposal came in the form of a letter from their apartment management.. He drafted up a letter to make it look identical to a notification for service from their apartment complex and had every intention of clipping it to their mailbox the next day. The plan was, Stephanie would find it, think it was for a service... open it up to read "Will You Marry Me?" and then come inside and find Danny on one knee. Precious, right? :)
The night before the big moment, Danny had his fictitious note laying under a pile of mail he planned to put back in the mailbox. He was busily preparing dinner when he realized Stephanie was at the counter, digging through the mail. Before he could stop her, she had the note in hand - reading those all important words. In a quick swift move, Danny dropped the spoon and hit one knee on their kitchen floor - spitting out "Will You Marry Me??" as quickly as possible, ring in hand.
Though his plan might not have gone exactly as he planned - listening to these two tell me this story brought about honest evidence - that it couldn't have happened any better. Their story is and was perfect for them, and I absolutely love it!
Their warm wedding day on June 20th was full of so much happy, and so much laughter. Danny might be the biggest goofball I've ever met, and without a doubt, Stephanie will be laughing all of her days. It is without a shadow of a doubt that Danny adores her in ways you can't even imagine.
With gorgeous sunflowers and a bright blue sky - these two said their vows to one another. And then they celebrated the evening away with so much dancing, and so much joy.
Stephanie & Danny - Truly, I couldn't be more thrilled that you guys chose me as your photographer. My time spent with you both has been the absolute best. You both are so much fun to be around, I'm honestly sad that our time is over! Congratulations to you both, your lives together are so full of promise!

Deer Creek Golf Club Wedding | Sammie & Austin
These two spoil each other, with so much love. So, so much. This fact was so wildly evident on their wedding day.
When I first met Sammie and Austin last year, and asked some of my favorite questions, such as, "How did you guys meet?" and "How did he propose?!" - Austin's proposal story quickly became one of my favorites. The park where they had gone on their first date - with "Will You Marry Me?" spelled out in rose petals on the ground. But the part that really stuck with me, the part that I'd mentally keep going back to on their wedding day - was what Austin said, when I asked Sammie if I could see her ring. A gorgeous Tacori diamond. And Austin said to me "I wanted to spoil her a little".
The truth is - these two spoil each other. They really do. With so much love, faithfulness, and admiration. So, so much. This fact was wildly evident on their wedding day, and that's why I kept going back to that single comment Austin made last year. He spoiled Sammie then, and continues to do so, in so many ways, but Sammie does her own share of spoiling him. And the best part of all this spoiling, is how deeply saturated with love it is.
These two love BIG. Big, I tell you. Before their ceremony, Austin sent a snow globe to Sammie's room, the kind that will hold a photo of them forever, along with some beautiful earrings. Sammie sent Austin a box containing a new watch, a journal, plus hundreds of pre-written letters, all addressed with things such as "Open when... You're feeling happy" and "Open when...You're thinking about the future" - setting him up for a lifetime of precious notes from her. Truly, I can't choose between who's reaction I adored more.
The moment they first saw each other for their First Look goes down as one of my most favorite wedding day moments ever. So. Much. HAPPY.
For their outdoor ceremony, they had a perfect blue sky and the love and support from so many friends and family. Their own written vows, completed perfectly with the way getting through them together meant smiles, laughs, and a few tears.
Their perfect shabby chic styled reception that fell straight off of Pinterest. All those laughs during toasts from two of their dearest friends. That first dance, with endless smiles. Everything about Sammie and Austin's day was soaked in that type of love that you just, love.
Sammie & Austin - Thank you guys sooo much for giving me the true honor of documenting your love story. So many fond memories I'll be carrying throughout my career.

Deer Creek Golf Club Wedding | Kelsey & Stuart
Kelsey and Stuart grew up just blocks from one another, and when their friendship reached a point of - "It feels weird if we don't talk at least once a day.." - they knew. And they've been together ever since.
Kelsey and Stuart grew up just blocks from one another, and when their friendship reached a point of - "It feels weird if we don't talk at least once a day.." - they knew. And they've been together ever since.
Years later, Stuart purchased a ring and at the time, decided the best hiding place would be in an old golf bag in their garage. The bag that Kel referred to as - "An old ugly gold golf bag that I almost threw out about a dozen times!!". Luckily, that ugly bag never left their garage, and the gorgeous diamond tucked inside was safe until the perfectly planned evening came along.
That perfectly planned evening came when these two took a trip to Vegas. At the Eiffel Tower Restaurant - a special table with the best view. A dozen red roses. A bottle of wine. A personalized menu. And dessert... When Kelsey's dessert came, there was a mini Eiffel Tower on the plate, with her ring inside.
These two were married on the lovely day of May 30, 2015 at Deer Creek Golf Club, in Overland Park, Kansas. An outdoor ceremony with their closest friends and family followed by a big indoor celebration-style reception. Their all-day smiles said it all!
Kel & Stu - Congratulations!! I am so glad to know you guys as friends, and so glad I could document your best day ever!!

Kansas City Newborn Photographer | Welcome, Baby Sam
He's here! Baby Sam is here!
He's here! Baby Sam is here. Newborn sessions are not something I've done a lot of, I'll admit that right away. However, after documenting Beth and Evan during their pregnancy, and getting to know these guys even more than I already did.... I simply had to say yes when they asked me to document Baby Sam. I had to! - I'm a part of this now! And truthfully, I had the absolute best time, and I'm thrilled with the result!
Beth and Evan welcomed me into their home to capture Baby Sam just a few weeks after he made his grand entrance into this world. My goal was to keep things light, have them just be them, a new little family, and me be a fly on a wall. And goodness, did things ever go wonderfully. Beth and Evan are sooo happy. Baby Sam is a very precious little guy. And "big brother" Oscar, well he's just as awesome as always. With all those special little moments, we ended up with a great collection of images.
Beth and Evan - I'm truly so so so happy that you guys wanted me to continue on this journey with you, and I can't wait to watch and document Sam as he grows into his first year! It's going to be really special! Thank you guys again! :)
