Engagement Session at The Nelson Atkins, KC // Hannah + Tyler
Any new gift that popped up underneath their Christmas tree, Hannah knew about it almost immediately. So Tyler made sure to hide one gift in particular in the basement instead.
The Kansas City Royals. Such an iconic thing. And such a random thing when you realize that it was because of the KC Royals that these two met. Two people, from different directions, arriving at the famous stadium for internships...having no idea they would find so much more than that.
In the days leading up to Christmas morning, 2016, Hannah had been acutely aware of any and all movement that happened under her and Tyler's Christmas tree. Any new gift that appeared, she knew it was there almost immediately. So Tyler had made sure to hide a particularly special gift in the basement instead. That fateful morning they were up, getting ready to unwrap gifts together, all cozy inside their house, just the two of them and one of their current fur babies, when Tyler presented Hannah with an awkwardly wrapped gift...a cookie cake. Atop that cookie cake was a ring box, that Hannah didn't know existed until she peeled back the wrapping paper, and the moment she did, everything about that Christmas morning changed.
I'm so excited to get to know these two, celebrate alongside them, and document their big day next April!! They share a love that is so playful and fun, and so enjoyable to be around!
Sunny Evening Engagement Session in Kansas City // Bailey + Ben
Their paths first crossed in high school, led to a first date that maybe didn't go as they hoped,....and later on down the road, led them to a second date. It was that second date that changed the course of their lives, in the best possible way!
Bailey and Ben first met in high school, and actually had their first date during that time. But, that first date during their high school years maybe didn't go as great as either of them hoped, which makes the fact that they reconnected several years down the road, and decided to go on a second date, all the more special. What made them decide to give it another go? What made them think, maybe this time will be different? Better? One can only wonder.
The point is that they chose to find those answers, they chose date #2 after so many years had passed...and for Bailey + Ben, they absolutely made the right decision. That second date went a million times better, and it took these two on a path they maybe hadn't expected at the time. A path that in due time, would lead them to the evening Bailey came home from work, to her and Ben's apartment... To unexpectedly find Ben had flowers and candles everywhere across their home. And, she found Ben himself in the middle of it all, dressed to the nines in a suit, with a hopeful look on his face, a question on the tip of his tongue, and a gorgeous ring in hand.
So excited to know these two, and celebrate alongside them, camera in hand, during this super special time in their lives!! Their engagement session at The Nelson Atkins was a fun evening full of perfect light, lots of giggles, and the extra element of fun - their sweet bulldog, Rolly!!

And for as long as I've known Megan, I hadn't yet had the joy of meeting her kiddos, her hubby, her sis, or her parents until this day rolled around!
All 8 of us got together at the always popular, Nelson Atkins Museum for updated family photos, and had an absolute ball together! Gorgeous sunlight, bubbles and candy for the kids, giggles, and all sorts of other shenanigans! Such a fun and awesome family!
A Nelson-Atkins Musuem Engagement Session | Jessica + Chad
He had a custom ring made, just for Jessica. An oval of diamonds surround this huge, breathtaking sapphire in the most unique and special way. He asked Jessica's Dad for his blessing, and put his plan into place.
He researched her Pinterest boards. He took notes. He made plans. After having met on Eharmony.com, dating for a while, falling in love, and realizing - hey you, you're who I want for always....Chad knew it was time. Getting engaged was simply the next step.

Nelson Atkins Engagement Session, Kansas City | Ashlie + Michael
"Oh shoot, who is this..." were the words Michael first said to himself when he saw Ashlie walk in the room.
"Oh shoot, who is this..." were the words Michael first said to himself when he saw Ashlie walk in the room. Both of these guys had just began their first day as leaders for their local rally against bullies movement. Both were eager to speak, guide and encourage these young kids who were facing bullies. Neither of them expected to meet someone there.
They hit it off right away, and together led so many young kids to better situations, bonding the entire time. Before long, they were hanging out, outside of school and really realizing they cared deeply for one another :)
Years later, they were on a trip to Arizona together and about to have dinner at the hotel restaurant... but Michael had something he was setting in motion, and Ashlie had no idea. On a "trip to the restroom", Michael passed his cell phone to a waitress, explaining what was about to take place, and asked her to take a few photos. Once back at the table, he surprised the heck out of Ashlie when he proposed to her, asking her to be his forever! And Michael had managed to get a few photos of the moment thanks to that waitress!
These two are getting married oh-so-soon, and I'm completely delighted to be a part of their special day! These guys have such a great bond - and seeing them say their I Do's is going to be wonderful!
