Megan had dubbed Shawn the "creepy barefoot kid" long before they really knew one another. In college, Shawn frequently visited the girls dorm to visit his then girlfriend, and for whatever reason he came in barefoot. Megan, being the germophobe that she is noticed him immediately, but maybe not for the best of reasons...
Semesters later, these two ended up in a class together - sitting right side by side. They became quick friends, unknowingly to both that their paths used to cross, and that Megan had a pretty unique nickname for him. By then, Shawn was wearing shoes more regularly ;)
When the connection was made, Megan couldn't believe her eyes! Shawn 2.0 - this clean cut, shoe-wearing cutie - no more Mr. Creepy Barefoot Kid! From there, their story really began.
Dates upon dates, warm fuzzies and loving feelings all lead up to a leisurely date night near Crown Center one evening. These two had been walking around, simply exploring together when they found a good spot with a good view. Later that night, Shawn brought Megan back to that very spot, and the gorgeous ring he had been hiding in his pocket surfaced, along with a proposal.
These two are planning their big day for April of 2017 and after such a FUN engagement session, I personally am even MORE excited for their big day!
Megan's Dad has a fully-restored 1951 Chevrolet Pickup Truck - and not just any old restored truck - this truck is the EXACT truck that he bought for himself many moons ago! How cool is that!? When Megan first made mention of said truck and her hope to use it in both their engagement photos and their wedding photos - the little creative soul of mine did a backflip!
We all got together up in Kearney MO recently and these two lovebirds totally rocked it out in front of my camera like pros! As did the truck! ;) Megan and Shawn were even willing to scrap their shoes and tread in some questionable water! AHH! I love when people are brave for the sake of art!
We frolicked about, soaking up every last ounce of the gorgeous golden sunset these two were blessed with, and it was perfect! Megan and Shawn are so adorable together, the way they giggle, the way they watch each other giggle, the way their faces light up together. Ugh. Yes.
Megan and Shawn - I pretty much couldn't be even a fraction more happy than I already am to be working with you two - Megan, you SO get me, and I adore you for it! Your guys' big day is going to be spectacular!
