Burr Oak Woods Engagement Session // Emily + Alan

They've been busy planning a wedding, and they've been busy restoring their home together. Piece by piece, paint colors and tile choices, Emily and Alan are creating not just a house with four walls, but a home, with a heartbeat. And their little love story will grow and transform within that space in all the years to come.

Their story began well over a decade ago....the age old story of mutual friends inadvertently connecting two people. Two people who became close friends and were such at the pivotal moment of 9/11, when Emily promptly left with her military unit to unknown destinations. That distance seemed to only make her and Alan stronger as both were "there" for each other time and time again. 

It was a collection of years - several - that took Emily and Alan down a path of distance, reuniting, more distance, losing touch and finally, reconnecting that led them to where they are now. And ultimately that's the moral of the story, that what started in the year 2000 brought them to this place, and this time in their lives in the year 2018 - with a love stronger than ever, the creating of a home together, and a wedding day coming up oh so soon!
