SHAWNEE MISSION PARK
Key features + Notes: Definitely a favorite location, Shawnee Mission Park has a lot to offer and can really change from season to season. Fall can be beautiful and offer a lot of rich gold colors. The spring and summer can have fields of wildflowers — I’ve seen yellows, whites and purples. Fields can also have tall grass, and then the neutral colored foxtail grasses etc. In the summer months, we’d want to be aware of ticks. The various areas of ponds/lakes have spots where you can totally walk into the water for photos if you’d like, and the main marina will sometimes have little boats lined up which makes for great photos too! Very very diverse park! While we will drive from spot to spot, I usually suggest 3-4 spots only and can make suggestions on those if you aren’t familiar with the park itself. Keep in mind that we will be walking a lot and the grounds here are mostly all natural and not maintained.
Parking: Several parking lots at different areas — we will drive from spot to spot and park in various locations.
Restrooms: A few areas of the park have your typical park-style restroom facilities!
